Case had established themselves in the construction machinery industry by the year 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building equipment including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction equipment company through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their company by the middle part of the 1990s to become the top maker of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
In 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This company became responsible for marketing several of the world's leading brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
