In order to be a successful model, a forklift needs to be strong enough to last in all working environments for numerous hours of use. It should be able to transport loads effectively and quickly too. The machine has to be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain needs the power to constantly offer great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and really tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, transmission and engine are all isolated so as to decrease noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
Mazda's LP engine and GM's gas engines utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of machines offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimal repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The standard Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching which automatically adjusts in order to lessen maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. Furthermore, the auto deceleration feature lessens brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for extra strength with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This particular component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are basically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included a lot of safety features and ergonomic features. These kinds of machinery will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
