Rough terrain forklifts have been produced by CareLift Equipment, ever since 1962. Each day the company strives to deliver value and help their consumers reach their goals as they know the bottom line is performance and reliability.
Boom lifts come in 2 general types, the straight boom lift and articulated boom lift. These units are usually powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the ideal option for jobs which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating three hundred sixty degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator is able to maneuver and steer the vehicle whilst the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machinery. These units are available in propane, gas or diesel configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.
Articulated boom lifts are utilized for lifting loads up and over obstacles and gain access to areas that were otherwise not accessible. These lift units perform jobs which straight telescopic booms cannot complete. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily in the work site.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers in order to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is necessary before using boom lifts in order to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable tasks that used to require many more man hours to be completed in a much shorter time period. These machinery have changed the material handling industry and have really increased production.
